About Us

Chinmaya Vijaya / About Us

Our Mission

To embrace any orphaned girl child in the 5 to 8 year age group, irrespective of her caste, colour, creed, or ethnicity, and to raise her as our own, providing food, shelter, clothing, education, healthcare and continue caring till she completes education and settles in life.

Our Objective

To care for orphaned girls between the ages of 5 and 8 and bring them up as our own to teach them social respect, imbibe cultural values and mould them into socially responsible citizens. They will be under our care until graduation, marriage or securing a job, whichever comes first.

Our Association

“CHINMAYA VIJAYA” was formed as part of Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development (CORD) a dedicated rural service arm of Central Chinmaya Mission Trust (CCMT) – a world-wide body in the service of mankind. This structure ensures is followed to have transperency in the activities of all the wings at the same to work with answerability and more responsibility in the affairs of the organization. This, therefore, makes it inevitable to have “CHINMAYA VIJAYA” a body of Trustees of its own besides the Central Trust Body of CORD.
While the Trustees of Chinmaya Vijaya take care of all the day-to-day affairs, the trustees of CORD provide necessary guidance, exercise due control and supervision for better accountability. CCMT acts as the guide star for this oceanic organization to make all its wings sail safely.

Our Location And Size

Location

  • Chinmaya Vijaya is located in Kaza Village of Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh State, India. Nambur is the nearest Railway Station and can also be reached from Guntur Railway Station (about 15 KM) and Mangalagiri Railway Station (about 5 KM).
  • By road also the Orphanage can be reached both from Vijayawada and Guntur Bus Stations – equidistant from both to the cut point on NH-16.
  • With prior confirmed communication at least three days ahead transport is arranged from the rail / bus terminals to pay a visit to the Orphanage.
  • Chinmaya Vijaya provides a comfortable home, nutritious vegetarian food, and value-based education to the children.

Size

In order to ensure a qualitative life to the children admitted in the orphanage by fulfilling their basic needs and amenities like a child of our own, like better living condition, better education and yet a better settled life we are selective in our approach and so we limited the size of the organization ie. the number of admissions between 100-110 replenishing the number as the senior-most child departs towards greener pastures i.e job or marriage whichever is earlier.
For the above reasons, as of March 2015, there are 109 children in the ages 5 to 14 studying LKG to IX Standard. Depending upon our own affordability without compromising on the standards of living we envisage to provide and resources that are made available, going further, we may take more children adding a fixed number per year.

WELCOME TO CHINMAYA VIJAYA

Chinmaya Vijaya Orphanage is an apolitical, non-governmental, all-girls Orphanage, that was founded by Drs. Sumathi and AppaRao Mukkamala as a tribute to Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, who dedicated His entire Life in the service to mankind.

With the benevolent benedictions of Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda, Head of Chinmaya Mission Worldwide, Chinmaya Vijaya was formed in early 2007 under the auspices of Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development (CORD).

Chinmaya Vijaya is specifically committed to the care of orphaned and homeless girls in order to provide them with a family, a home, and a strong foundation to lead an independent and secure life.

The Project has been made possible through the generous donation of five acres of land by the family of Sri Lingamaneni Bhaskara Rao in Kaza Village, Andhra Pradesh and with monetary donations from the family and friends of the Mukkamalas and devotees of Chinmaya Mission Worldwide. The Mukkamalas and the children at Chinmaya Vijaya express their heart-felt thanks and pray Poojya Gurudev to shower His kind benedictions for happiness and well-being of all the Donors that support this humanitarian cause.

WELCOME TO CHINMAYA VIJAYA

India, home to over a billion people, is also home to the world’s largest number of poor and needy. Multiple negative influences in their lives, such as ill health, lack of awareness, and lack of educational opportunities, coupled with social injustice and gender discrimination, locks the underprivileged into permanent cycles of poverty and deprivation.

The orphan girls come from rural villages and towns of Andhra Pradesh. The girls lived on streets and in shacks. We embrace,

  • Girls between the ages of 5 and 8 years.
  • Girls who have lost their both parent in natural disasters or diseases.
  • Girls whose parent are terminally ill.
  • Girls who are disowned or deserted by their parents.
  • Any girl who fits the above criteria, irrespective of race, religion, or creed.
